After some breathtaking surprises, the judges arrived at a verdict which caught the world in awe. Once again, the Philippines has proved that it can match with the striking beauties of the different nations of the world. Karla Paula Henry first Miss Earth 2008 crown for the Philippines, a perfect combination of beauty, brains and genuine concern for the environment. Karla is the epitome of beauty, elegance, virtue and intelleigence rolled into one. The prestigious  international beauty search was held on November 9, 2008 at the Clark Expo Amphitheater in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. Karla came, saw and conquered. Having bested more than eighty beauties, Karla is the sixth international beauty titlist of the country after Ms. Lara Precious Quigaman brought home the crown of Ms. International wayback 2005.

Now on its 8th year, the Miss Earth Beauty Pageant will be held once again in the Philippines with pre-pageant activities to be held in Bali and Guam. As more than 90 contestants from all over the world arrive in Manila, some of them are early favorites of spectators, pageant enthusiasts and press people already.

The Miss Earth 2008 coronation night is happening on November 9, 2008 at the Clark Expo Amphitheater in Angeles City, Pampanga and to be televised live by ABS-CBN.
